Blueberries are good for you and for wildlife. Blueberry Glaze® Blueberry is a good blueberry to grow in a pot or in the ground for smaller gardens. Not only do blueberries fruit prolifically, they have stunning early spring and late fall foliage color that rivals some Japanese maples. Blueberry Glaze has small, dense foliage that resembles Boxwood and can even be pruned in the same manner. Birds and bees love the tiny blooms and fruit of Blueberry Glaze® Blueberry. This contemporary shrub is at home in a Cottage Garden as informal hedging or in a woodland garden setting planted alongside other broadleaf evergreens such as Azalea or Rhododendron. Blueberry Glaze® Blueberry Care Blueberry Glaze® will bloom and fruit best when planted in full sun. Shade either early or late in the day is tolerable. Acidic soil that is also free draining is a must. Blueberries appreciate having consistent watering the first two years after planting. After being well established, Blueberry Glaze® will only need supplemental irrigation if planted in a container or during hot, dry spells. Low maintenance is a real thing when it comes to Blueberry Glaze® Blueberry. The dense, compact growth very rarely requires pruning. A quick once over early in the spring to remove any branches that are dead, dying, diagonal or diseased is the only upkeep needed. Feeding is more important when this shrub is planted in a container. Applying a fertilizer formulated for acid loving plants early in the spring will keep this Blueberry vigorous and strong.
