Reminiscent® Ginger Rose (Rosa ChewArizona) brings old-fashioned rose form together with modern garden performance. Fully double, cupped blooms open in layered shades of apricot, soft orange, cream, and warm gold from early summer until frost. The color shifts slightly as flowers mature, giving the shrub depth and dimension rather than a flat, single tone. Plants mature at about 23 feet tall and 34 feet wide, creating a broad, rounded presence that fills space without overpowering neighboring plants. We love this variety for its sweet, lightly spicy scent, which is noticeable without being overwhelming.Part of the Reminiscent® series, this shrub rose was bred for strong disease resistance and repeat bloom. Glossy green foliage stays clean in full sun with good air circulation. It is cold hardy, so even after a cold winter it rebounds quickly and flowers reliably. The compact size works well in foundation beds, mixed borders, low hedges, and large patio containers. It also performs beautifully in cottage-style gardens where its classic form complements perennials like salvia, catmint, and hardy geranium.Reminiscent® Ginger Rose CarePlant in full sun for best flowering and plant health, providing at least six hours of direct light daily. Choose well-drained soil enriched with compost before planting; roses prefer slightly acidic to neutral soil with a pH around 6.07.0. Water deeply at the base of the plant and avoid overhead irrigation late in the day to reduce foliar issues. Keep soil consistently moist during the first growing season, then irrigate when the top few inches become dry. Feed in early spring with a granular fertilizer formulated for roses, and repeat in early summer if growth slows. Avoid heavy late-season fertilizing to prevent tender new growth before frost.Prune in early spring just as buds begin to swell. Remove dead or weak stems and reduce the overall height by about one-third to promote strong new flowering shoots. Thin crowded interior canes to improve airflow. Deadheading is optional since the plant reblooms freely, but trimming spent clusters can refine its appearance. In colder regions, apply a protective layer of mulch after the ground freezes and remove it gradually in spring.Reminiscent® Ginger Rose SpacingSpace plants 34 feet apart in mass plantings or low hedges to allow for mature width and good air circulation. In containers, select a pot at least 1820 inches wide with excellent drainage. In a foundation bed, position plants slightly forward of larger shrubs to prevent shading. For container growing, use a pot at least 1822 inches in diameter with high-quality potting mix and consistent drainage. In containers, combine with blue salvia, purple coneflower, or silver artemisia for structure and color contrast.
